DOG AND CAT NUTRITION INFORMATION

What we feed our dogs and cats is as important as what we feed ourselves.  We all need to get the proper nutrients each day to keep ourselves healthy.

If you have a new puppy, be sure to feed it the proper food.  They need more protein and fat in their diets because they are growing at a much faster rate. 

Once they are out of puppy stage, which can be at 6 months or     1 1/2 years depending on the breed, you will move into an adult formula.  It is a little less protein and fat than the puppy.  If the mature dog is very active or worked hard, such as the Akron Police K9 force, you will want them on the performance line of food.

Many people want to feed their Labs, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, etc the Large Breed lines.  To be honest with you, they really don't need the Large Breed food.  Large breed usually refers to the Great Danes, Newfoundland, etc. 

Once your valued pet reaches the older years, we suggest moving them on to our Senior Line of foods.  These will have a much higher amount of glucosamine and chondriotin in them to help with the joints that hurt as they age.

Now the pet that you cannot seem to keep their weight under control, you will want to look at our Reduced Fat lines.

Okay, you're saying that you don't have a dog, but you have a cat.  This pretty much is the same basic idea in cat food too.  Cat foods have a completely different formulation from dog food and they require different levels of protein and fat in their diets.  You may also want a food that control hair balls, and here at Copley Feed we have what you need.
