DEER INFORMATION

Fall is on it's way once again, and the deer will soon be looking for some extra help with their diets.  Copley Feed carries a wide range of deer food to help keep the deer healthier and away from your plantings.

First, if the deer are coming in close to your houses and feasting on your trees and shrubs, you will want to apply Liquid Fence to your plantings.  This is a repellent that helps keep the deer away. 

Now, if you like seeing the deer in your yard, that is fine.  Just work at keeping them as far away from your houses as possible.  You have to remember that they are a wild animal, and no matter how beautiful they are, they can certainly hurt you if they feel endangered.

Several of the foods that we have available are Purina Antlermax Deer food, Purina Deer Blocks, Candy Corn (which is shelled corn, soybeans and molasses mixed), Ear Corn, Shelled Corn, and Salt Blocks.  You will want to set up a feeding area for the deer and wildlife, so that they return to the same place daily.  If you once begin feeding them, you will want to continue all winter long.  They will become dependant on you, so when it gets cold out, don't get lazy and figure they can fend for themselves.

We have destroyed so much of the open area around us, that contrary to what some people feel, we need to be responsible for helping our wildlife survive the harsh elements.
